Treasure found in oil palm plantation
Never had he known his father’s vision by planting Agarwood trees in oil palm plantation would turn into a big fortune for him.
Mr.Latip currently managing his father’s oil palm plantation with a total size of 3 acres and their oil palm plantation also hosted approximately 1,400 Agarwood trees. Upon our visit for inoculation, we found out his Agarwood trees can grow harmonically with oil palm trees, and through years of dedication and care by his father and him, their Agarwood trees grow healthily and tall.
This tree diameter is around 9 – 10 inch and with our inoculation serum, we can harvest approximately 2 – 3 tola of Agarwood oil and per tola market value is USD200 – USD250.
During our conversation, Mr.Latip said, he has been approached by many inoculation companies and it closes to 5 companies claim to have the best inoculation results. However, he declined their offers due to the reason he still doesn’t have confidence in those companies. There is this company who offers to sell their inoculation serum for RM 7.00 per hole. That said, with his tree size, approximately 70 holes are needed and that would sum up to RM 490.00 per tree.
He got to know us through one of our long time clients in Tangkak. After visiting our own Agarwood plantation farm, he finally decides to attach our service. Seeing is believing, by him visiting our Agarwood farm, he, himself get to see the results.
Our phase one project starts with inoculation of a total of 125 matured agarwood trees and upon the maturity, we will then extend our service in harvesting and production.
The reason he is active in Agarwood plantation Is that he sees crude oil palm’s price is decreasing rapidly due to many uncertainties like recently, Indian trade association call for importer not to import Malaysia oil palm anymore. Furthermore, the hard work they put in oil palm is not lucrative compared to Agarwood.
